Flash Coffee is back on the press cycle. This time, it’s because the tech-enabled coffee chain’s Thailand business was acquired by Turn Capital.

  • The terms of the deal were not disclosed.

🟨 Paint the town yellow

We’re not sure how many cups of coffee our Thai readers can down in a day.

What we do know? They’ll see more Flash Coffee stalls across the country soon.

  • Turn Capital is planning to open more than 100 new stores in the next two years!
  • They’ll also diversify the brand’s food and drink offerings and fortify their local team.

🇹🇭 On to greener pastures

Last month, we wrote about how Flash Coffee left the Singapore market, closing down all their 11 outlets.

  • The gist: It wasn’t working out for them. They ended up owing money to creditors and their baristas.
  • Following this, they had said that they would venture into more promising markets. Guess that’s Thailand!

Not a stranger to goodbyes. Before leaving Singapore, they had also exited Japan and Taiwan in 2021.

☕ A major brew

Flash Coffee is currently active across four countries: Indonesia, Thailand, Hong Kong, and South Korea. They’re also backed by investors like White Star Capital, Delivery Hero, Conny & Co, and more!

But if you haven’t encountered them, they sell a mix of coffee and juice drinks.

  • You can order from them in three ways. Place an order in their app and pick up your drink in-store, buy from their physical locations, or have your order delivered through third-party food delivery platforms.

Rewind. The coffee chain raised a $50M Series B in May this year.
