Here’s Amperesand! They’re a next-generation power infrastructure provider for AI data centers and megawatt-scale critical power applications.

  • Now, they just raised an $80M Series A!

Investor check. The round was co-led by Walden Catalyst Ventures and Temasek, with participation from Xora Innovation, Material Impact, TDK Ventures, Foothill Ventures, Industry Ventures, SG Growth Capital, and Acclimate Ventures.

💡 The ABCs of Amperesand

Amperesand’s Medium Voltage Solid-State Transformer (MV SST) platform enables a seamless transition between different power sources that can work on and off grid.

Their SSTs can regulate voltage and frequency, which ensures a stable and resilient power source.

  • Their solution cuts installation labor needs in half and accelerate the time to power by x10 because of its integrated design.
  • Besides AI data centers, the company is also targeting EV charging and grid applications.

Why their tech matters. In the US alone, data centers consumed 4.4% of electricity in 2023 and are expected to consume up to 12% by 2028. Around the world, the use of AI is skyrocketing, powering the demand for more stable sources of power.

🤖 What’s with the $$$?

The funding will accelerate the commercialization and scaling of Amperesand’s MV SST solution.

In 2026, they’ll deliver their first commercial units to the Port of Singapore, supporting a mission-critical charging pilot with PSA International.

  • They’ll also focus on 30 megawatt of pilot deployments with hyperscaler and critical infrastructure customers in 2026.
  • They’ll also expand their teams in the US and Singapore!
