New fund incoming! Singapore-based investment firm January Capital closed its Growth Credit Fund at $130M.

LP check. The fund attracted commitments from Japan’s SBI Holdings, GMO Payment Gateway, Orient Growth Ventures, and Australian Philanthropic Services Foundation.

📈 Growth, growth, growth

The fund will focus on providing non-dilutive capital to growth-stage, sponsor-backed technology firms across the APAC region.

  • The Growth Credit Fund offers senior secured loans, typically ranging from $10M to $20M.
  • The fund has been actively deployed and has provided growth credit to five companies to date. Five more transactions are expected to close in the first quarter of 2026!

💰 Why growth credit?

While growth credit is an established asset class in the US, it’s still an emerging option in APAC.

  • According to the firm’s estimates, growth credit represents less than 2% of available funding for tech-enabled growth companies in the region.

Alternative credit on the rise? Earlier this December, Granite Asia announced a $350M first close for its pan-Asia private credit strategy.
